In 1986, PWA was formed by a small group of people living with AIDS in response to what they were seeing and experiencing in the community. This was a community collective of resources to meet the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS.
That community collective continues today with the generous support from individuals, corporations, foundations, various levels of government, and events.
By choosing to support PWA, you are making a positive difference and an investment in ensuring people living with HIV/AIDS have access to food, financial assistance, therapies, training, and more.

In - kind donations
PWA accepts non-perishable food items for our Essentials Market Food Bank all year long, and we encourage you to consider asking guests to bring these items to your next dinner soiree, birthday party, or community event. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate while giving back! Donations can be dropped off at our office, or for larger contributions, we can coordinate a pickup. Please email ntom@pwatoronto.org to donate. In addition to food items, we also gladly accept in-kind donations of clothing, furniture, household appliances, computers and technology devices, and children’s toys. Your contributions make a meaningful difference in our community, and we truly appreciate your generosity!
